Pristine Laser Restoration accepts shipped firearms components for laser cleaning through our Ship-To Program. We clean bolt carrier groups, barrels, slides, triggers, and other individual parts using a fiber laser that removes carbon fouling, rust, old coatings, and surface contamination without altering dimensions, tolerances, or engravings. We accept components only and do not accept complete, assembled firearms. Our facility does not hold a Federal Firearms License. Customers shipping serialized parts such as frames and receivers are responsible for confirming compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local shipping laws.

Ship It. We Prep It. You Finish It.

Carbon fouling builds up in places a brush cannot reach. Rust forms on pieces that sat in storage too long. Old coatings need to come off before refinishing. Laser cleaning removes all of it without altering dimensions, changing tolerances, or grinding into engravings, proof marks, and serial numbers. Ship us the component. We clean it and send it back ready for reassembly, refinishing, or return to service.

SHIP-TO PROCESS FOR FIREARMS COMPONENTS

Send Photos. Ship the Component. Get It Back Clean.

1

Send Us Photos and Details

Use the form below or email us photos of the component. Tell us what it is, what is on it (carbon, rust, old coating), and what the component needs to be ready for (reassembly, refinishing, inspection). We review and respond with a quote within one business day.

2

Ship the Component to Us

Once you approve the quote, we send packing instructions and our shipping address. You pack the component securely and ship it to our facility. We recommend insured shipping with tracking for all components.

Important: We clean individual components only. We do not accept complete, assembled firearms. We do not hold a Federal Firearms License (FFL). If your part has a serial number (frames and receivers), check with a licensed firearms dealer before shipping to confirm you are following applicable federal, state, and local laws. Most other components such as barrels, bolt carrier groups, slides, triggers, and handguards ship without restriction.

3

We Clean the Component

We inspect the component on arrival, confirm the scope, and clean it using the fiber laser. Parameters are set for the specific material and contamination type. We photograph the result and notify you when it is ready to ship back.

4

We Ship It Back to You

The cleaned component is packed securely and shipped back to you with tracking. It arrives ready for reassembly, refinishing, or return to service. Return shipping cost is included in your quote.

Laser cleaning removes carbon fouling, rust, old coatings, and surface contamination from firearms components using a fiber laser. The laser energy is tuned to the ablation threshold of the contaminant layer so that carbon deposits, iron oxide, Cerakote, DuraCoat, park finish, and other surface materials vaporize on contact. The base metal underneath has a significantly higher ablation threshold, which means the laser removes the contamination without reaching into the substrate. Dimensions, tolerances, engravings, proof marks, serial numbers, and roll marks remain unchanged because they are features of the metal itself and not part of the contamination layer. An integrated fume extraction system captures vaporized particles during the cleaning process. The operator adjusts laser parameters for each specific component, material, and contamination type and tests a small area first to confirm the settings before proceeding with the full part.

Carbon Out. Rust Gone. Tolerances and Detail Preserved.

Send us photos and tell us what the component is, what contamination is on it, and what it needs to be ready for. We will tell you what the laser can do, what the job costs, and how to ship the part to us.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What People Ask Before Shipping Firearms Components

Bolt carrier groups, barrels, slides, triggers, charging handles, gas blocks, gas tubes, muzzle devices, handguards, buffer tubes, and other individual components. We accept steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and chrome-lined parts. We do not accept complete, assembled firearms. If you are unsure whether your specific component is something we can clean, send us photos and we will give you a direct answer.
No. The laser parameters are adjusted for each component so the energy removes carbon, rust, and coatings without reaching the ablation threshold of the base metal. Engravings, serial numbers, proof marks, roll marks, and stamps remain intact because they are part of the substrate, not the contamination layer. We verify this on a test area before proceeding with the full component.
Yes. The laser removes Cerakote, DuraCoat, park finish, bluing residue, spray paint, and other applied coatings. The cleaned surface is ready for recoating or refinishing immediately after cleaning. If you need a coating removed before sending the component to your finisher, laser cleaning gives you a clean substrate without the dimensional change that bead blasting or sanding creates.
We do not hold a Federal Firearms License. Customers shipping parts that bear a serial number, specifically frames and receivers as defined by ATF regulations, are responsible for confirming that their shipment complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Most individual components such as barrels, bolt carrier groups, slides, triggers, and handguards are not regulated as firearms and ship without restriction. If you are unsure whether your specific component requires special shipping procedures, consult a licensed firearms dealer or attorney before shipping.
The laser cleans external barrel surfaces, muzzle faces, chamber exteriors, and barrel extensions. Internal bore cleaning is not performed with the laser. The geometry of a bore does not allow the beam to reach internal surfaces effectively. If you need external carbon, rust, or coating removal from a barrel, the laser handles that. Internal bore maintenance should continue with your existing bore cleaning process.
The laser operates below the thermal threshold that would alter heat treatment or case hardening. The energy is tuned to remove surface contamination, not to penetrate into the metallurgical structure of the component. Case-hardened receivers, heat-treated bolts, and nitrided barrels retain their hardness profiles after cleaning. We test a small area first to confirm parameters before proceeding with the full component.

Laser cleaning offers significant advantages over ultrasonic cleaning and bead blasting for firearms components. Ultrasonic tanks agitate solvent around the part, which works for light carbon and oil but struggles with baked-on fouling, rust, and applied coatings. Ultrasonic cleaning also requires chemical solvents that need disposal and cannot selectively target specific contamination types. Bead blasting removes contamination effectively but is an abrasive process that alters surface dimensions, rounds sharp edges, and can obscure fine engravings, proof marks, and serial numbers over repeated applications. Bead media can also embed in threaded areas and gas ports. Laser cleaning removes carbon, rust, and coatings without contacting the surface, without chemicals, and without altering dimensions or detail. The process is repeatable because it does not remove base material.
